we left Denver this morning in beautiful sunlight and headed south on I25. We turned west on CO160 to head over Wolf Creek Pass. Elevation is a little over 10,000ft. We were glad it was sunny and warm because there was lots of snow. I mean lot's of snow. As I said yesterday I was told they had over 40 feet of snow this winter. We saw snow piled 12-15 feet high in places and as we looked up on mountains we could estimate that some snow was piled over 50 feet--actually I'd say closer to 100 but I don't want you to think I'm making this up.

It was one of the most beautiful drives we have ever been on. The snow on the mountains
with the sun shining was awesome. It was fun driving and listening to the comments of everyone behind me. They all enjoyed it. We took a few stops to take some pictures and size up some of the drifts. I've included a couple of pictures, one is of the group at the summit of Wolf Creek Pass, the other is just a little further down as we drove next to a place where they had blown the snow off the road. The snow was higher than the motorcoach! It was awesome.
Tomorrow, it's on to the Grand Canyon--another great day awaits us!
