Grand Canyon........

Left Cortez this morning and the temperature was right at freezing. It was snowing a bit so we really didn't know what to expect. There was snow on the ground all the way to Kayenta and then from there to Cameron the snow was pretty much gone.
We made our first stop at Four Corners and everyone got a chance to stand in 4 states at once! It's a fun stop. It was cold and windy, but all enjoyed!

We stopped for lunch at the Cameron trading post. A nice place for lunch and they have a great gift shop--have to stop at a few of those!

As we got closer to the Grand Canyon, at the higher elevations, there was more snow on the ground again. This gave a different look to the Canyon then we had seen before.
There aren't words that can describe the Grand Canyon. Awesome, Spectacular, Wow, none do it justice.
To really know what it's like you have to see it. We stopped at many different overlooks as we traveled from the east entrance to Bright Angel Lodge. Each had a different view--each was spectacular. We've added some pictures so you can get a taste of what we experienced today..but if you really want to experience the Grand Canyon..well, we have a trip coming back this fall!

Tomorrow on to Coronado Island.
