Half way point.........

It's hard to believe that today marks half way in our trip. It's been a great trip and we've seen some wonderful places already...today will be no exception as we head out to Catalina Island and the town of Avalon. We head for the ferry in a little while but first let me tell you about yesterday.

We left Coronado Island at 9am and headed up I5 toward The Mission at San Juan Capistrano. We enjoyed some time exploring this old mission and looking for the swallows...they aren't due in for another week or so.

On our way to Laguna Beach we took a scenic stop high atop Dana Point to look out over the marina and ocean. It was a beautiful site.

In Laguna Beach we had time for lunch and a walk on the beach. The weather was great and the surf was a bit high....but wonderful to watch and listen to.

We arrived at the Queen Mary in Long Beach for a tour and dinner. Our guide was excellent and gave us a very informative tour of this Grand Old Vessel. From first class to 3rd class we covered it all....of course with this group we didn't leave the first class section for long! Our dinner was excellent and our accomodations for the evening superb.

So we may be at the half way point---but we are looking forward with great anticipation to what lies ahead!
