Sunny and warm in Key West!!!!!!!

Arrived in Key West today. Long drive across the keys but a beautiful spot. The ocean is beautiful and the weather......well let's just say 92 and sunny is awesome!!!!!

But let's go back.....we had a few great days before today.

We left Orlando and stopped at the Kennedy Space Center for a visit. It was awesome! We hopped on the bus and went out to the viewing platform to see the launch pad and this being the day before a scheduled launch the shuttle Atlantis was on the launch pad. With weather threatening the next day, they had the shuttle covered so it wouldn't be damaged in case of high winds or hail. It was cool to see it there though and realize the next day......it would be in space.

After that stop we went to the Saturn 5 Rocket display. This was the rocket that went to the moon in the Apollo program. 300 plus feet long, WOW! A couple of great movies and then on to our last stop the workshop for preparing parts for the Space Station. Pretty cool to think that we saw things that within the next few years will be circling the earth for years! It was a great stop and we stretched our stay out a little longer so we could take in more......our travelers enjoyed that but it did mean we were a bit late getting into Ft Lauderdale for dinner....oh well!

The next morning we took a trip on the Jungle Queen through the in land waterways that are Ft Lauderdale. This was a tour to see the Rich and Famous. 35 million dollar yachts! 25 million dollar homes. It was unbelievable. A very nice lunch at at Shooters Waterfront Restaurant followed and then back to the hotel, just in time to step out on the beach and see if we could see the Shuttle launch.........nope, but we did see it the day before!

Well that brings us to this day.....Key West, the Southern Most Point of the continental US. Tonight the group went to Mallory Square to watch the sunset(there's a party every night to watch this). I've attached a picture, see the boat.......right in front of the sunset! Great timing on leaving port! But for all who saw, it was still a beautiful sight.

Well I know it's cold back home.......but here, it's warm and wonderful!
